Zeus, his first week at his new home.
Everything is going great (considering)... His manners are great, he's become very attached to all of us... he just needs to learn to mind better, and we're working on that.
Trisha has already started with him in obedience training and their the only ones in the class. He has a fairly short attention span, but is learning.
He got fairly panicked at the vet on Monday... being in a small room with two other people he didn't know. They were great and he got checked out in due time. He's up to 116lbs.
But in short, everything is going great.

Just a quick update. We did end up changing his name to Zane. Just a bit easier to say and we were finding too many other Danes named after Greek gods. Zeus/Zane didn't seem to notice the difference and we did just after the previous email, so early enough into training that it didn't cause any troubles.
We've noticed an oddity in Zane that we were hoping you might be able to shed some light on... just about every night around 8 to 9 he goes and gets one of his stuffed animal toys (usually his favorite... Monkey), starts walking around with it in his mouth and whines. Then he'll get up on the sofa with it still in his mouth, continue to whine and put both of his front paws up on it as if to hold it down better. I'd say half the time, he actually falls asleep that way with the toy still in his mouth. Later when we go to bed, he just leaves it and heads to bed.
Is the 8pm "get the toy, hang on to it and whine thing" have anything to do with him going into the crate for the night back with you? Did you ever notice it? It's really no bid deal, and I'd say it's beginning to even fade a bit... but we were just curious if anything normally happened around 8 or so involving a toy or something. We'd love to know.
He really is a good fit around here. His training is going well along with some small tweaks to his manners.

Zane is doing great. He fits in perfectly with our family and our lives in general. He's a lover and a snuggler.
