LEO
Just wanted to let you know we arrived home safely and Leo already seems to be settling in. His first meeting with our other dogs was completely stress free and friendly. He is a funny boy. He cracks me up when he eats. He takes a mouthful of food, circles around the room eating it and then goes back to the bowl for another mouth full and repeats the cycle. The first night he slept on the floor, but once he saw that dogs have furniture privileges here, he adapted very quickly and already seems to love the bed. So far he seems like a wonderful laid back kind of guy and I don't think it will take us long to fall in love with him. I will write back in a few weeks with an update and work on getting some photos to send you. Thanks for letting us adopt Leo!

Oscar (the dog formerly known as Leo) is such a fine fellow! It took him a few weeks to get comfortable in a new home, but now he appears happy and relaxed. As you found out, he has something wrong with his pelvis that makes it hard for him to move his rear legs normally. We put him on daily pain medicine and he seems more comfortable. At times, he even trots across the yard now when he is excited. He absolutely loves to play with squeeky toys and looks like a puppy sometimes when he has one in his mouth and is romping about. I was reading the description I sent in when we first adopted him and had to chuckle. He must have still been nervous then, because he now sticks his head in his food bowl and inhales his food in about 90 seconds. I have grown to love his quirky, folded over ear. My husband still has a tendency to straighten it out when he is petting Oscar, but it flops back over his head within seconds it seems. Oscar is such a sweet, sweet boy and very easy to love.
