 Bella

Baby Bella needs a total hip replacement.  She is only 11 months old and in constant pain.  Because of her hip she can't run and play with the other dogs and being just a puppy she wants to do all the things puppies do.  If you can contribute anything towards her surgery priced at $5500 by the U of M it would be greatly appricated.
You can donate by PayPal, they take 4%, or by check made out to GDROMN.  Send to 8238 Waldora Road, Siren Wi 54872

The Dane Farm Great Dane Sanctuary
History
The dream of many Dane lovers is a place for the old, ill and aggressive Danes to go.  That dream is now becoming a reality.   A year ago a group of Dane lovers met and put together a board of Directors and a mission statement.  Unfortunately the property where the Sanctuary was to go was not available.
Progress
Determined to make this dream a reality, Ann Heinrich appeared before the Burnett county land use and zoning committee asking for a conditional use permit for her 5 acre property in the woods.  The committee APPROVED IT!!
What Now?
The next step is remodeling a 40x24' garage into a living quarter for the Danes. They will not be kept in runs, they will have human beds, recliners, sofas and all the amenities of home plus three wooded acres to run and play.
What do we need?
We need all the help you can give us.  Mostly right now the need is money to finish the building.
Can you help?  If you can please let us know.  The Dane Farm Great Dane Sanctuary is working in conjunction with Great Dane Rescue of Mn and Wi.   Our email address is danes@danefarm.org
What items do we need?
We need water proof paint for the walls, windows, insulation, and much more. Used is fine, just so it works Everything you donate will be tax deductible.
When do we need this?
Now!! We hope to be up and running before winter.  We already have requests to take in Danes.  Until the building is done it is going to be difficult to house the Danes.
Who gets to use the Sanctuary
Danes will be accepted from all over the U.S.  We are in the process of establishing an advisory board made up of representatives from Dane rescues from all over the U.S.  The rescues who have members on the advisory board will get first chance to send a Dane to the farm. However we won't turn down any Dane if we have space.  A huge part of accepting these Danes will be finding people to transport the Danes to the Dane Farm.  We have already had requests from Vermont, Kentucky, Kansas, Iowa, and South Dakota.  And we have just been in business for a week!
How will the Sanctuary be funded
A Sanctuary is not self sustaining.  Every Dane that comes to the Sanctuary will live out the rest of its life there.  Many will have expensive medical bills. The survival of the Sanctuary depends 100% on donations and grants.  We will depend on you to spread the word, help write grant applications, hold fund raisers, pledge a monthly donation,
How long will the Sanctuary last
The sanctuary is intended to go on forever or as long as there is a need for it.  The property and all the buildings on it are being donated to the sanctuary corporation. There is room to build more buildings as time goes on.  There is room for a memorial garden for the Danes who lived out their lives at the sanctuary.
